Hi guys,
Recent new member here enjoying the first 45 days of RS7 nirvana. I've driven this dang car so much in the last 45 days that it have 2,000 miles on it. I can't stop driving it... I actually forced myself to sideline the RS7 while I have the Expel film, tinting and Modesta paint protection done this week.
That said, I have a few observations and questions I was hoping the group could help me with:
1) Occasional Exhaust Odor at WOT. If I have the driver window open, I'll catch a whiff of exhaust during / a little after a some wide open throttle fun - I don't smell it at idle, only occasionally at full load. Have any of you experienced this?
2) Shift consistency / Firmness. I've been fooling around with the stability control the last few days and noticed that if I defeat the stability control completely (5+ second hold on button) that I get much firmer, harder shifts at wide open throttle. Would this imply that I'm getting a little bit of slippage when stability control is on and as a result, the ECU is dialing things back momentarily? It's also getting a little cooler around here (Chicago) - I wonder if the z rates tires are getting a little hard.
3) Performance Degradation. It might all be in my head, but I get the feeling that my car is not always at optimal boost - I feel like it pulls much harder in some instances (eg. first gear shift into second vs. dipping into the throttle while already in second). Is this a function of the turbos spooling up?
I know some of these questions are highly subjective, but I figured if there were any community that could shed a little light, it would be you guys... Thanks in advance.
