Voice Command Phone Issues

HI all, does anyone else have problems with the voice command for the phone not recognizing names or otherwise suggesting names that have no rational relationship to the sounds of the name voice-entered? Or does this system just not perform all that great altogether? Wonder if anyone has a fix or knows of some update or something that may help. Thanks

I need to learn more about it. Honestly, I never use the on-board navi or the voice commands for dialing. IMO the whole MMI is way to painful and slow. I'd say it's very dated but the the onboard system in my last Ford sucked too. I hear the latest one is finally better in Ford land but not sure about Audi's new MMI system.

Did you try running through the "Voice Training"? (I think this may be a B8 option only - but not sure)

But I found that it worked much better after running through the training - I also had my wife do it as well - it ask you to repeat like 50 different commands and trains them to your voice/speech pattern.

Can't say that's a problem I've experienced. I'm actually regularly surprised at how well it recognizes foreign names in my address book. My one complaint is that I need to speak the full name.
