2006 A6 MMI Update inquiry

I recently got bit by the MMI update bug. I have to get it done before I can retrofit an AMI unit.

I read around the forums and internet, copied links to download files and burn ISO images to cds to complete the update.

All to no avail. No luck. I get the "download error.. meta info cannot be analyzed" error message.

I figured my CD-ROM was dirty so I run a disk cleaner.

Reburnt the ISO files on different brands of CD-R discs.

I can only conclude the links to the files are invalid or corrupted.

Does anyone have active links or torrent to help out? I know this is an old subject but any input is appreciated.

i burned 2 copies each on different kinds of cds, they all failed to load.. thats why i think the files were corrupted since i got the link from a 4 yr old thread.

I think a few years back there were people who had issues with burning them on a Mac. Let us know how your trial with Windows goes.
If all else fails there's a thread where I was sending free discs to members to update as long as they pledged to send to the next person. Maybe the last guy I sent them to has them and can send them to you.

Unbelievable, I burned the ISO image discs at the slowest speed again.
Got home tried again, same error.

Help!

I'm guessing you've rebooted just in case that was messing with things, right?
It's been years since I dealt with MMI updates. Have you tried searching to see what people did before?

yes, i rebooted the MMI a few times, i have searched high and low on the internet on many other forums but havent been successful.
i strongly believe it has to be the actual file that is currpoted.

does anyone have the cd and willing to rip and share? sell for a decent price?

I updated two months ago. Process is low but it's easy. I bought the 3 cd's in authorised dealer in my city. They are genuine and I didn't have problems. Maybe you can buy them. En Ebay also I have seen them.
