    Scanned full and found a code that I cannot find a reference for.

    Scanned full tonight and found a motor mount code. It seems pretty self explanatory but a new mount is over $400 so I'd like to be certain it is indeed the issue. The code says;

    1294 - actuator 1 for drivetrain mounts
    C1131 07 (009) mechanical failure

    Assuming it needs replaced, any clue which side 1 is?

    Nothing? No one has an idea what the mechanical component even is?

    Um - the code clearly tells you what mechanical part it is, and that it has failed. Call up an audi service center and ask them what side actuator 1 is on.

    True, but again, I can find no info on this actuator. I find no previous experience of it failing from other people and not even a picture of what it looks like. I guess I'm going to have to get it on the lift and start looking around. Engine mount, yes. Easy to find. Trans mount, yes easy to find but with no pictures, drivetrain actuator-nothing. I'm sure it'll make much more sense when I get under it to inspect. All the previous models I've worked on all have basic rubber mounts. Only the rs6 had electro hydraulic mounts and that was just the engine.

    Cohall- btw, how far did you lower your car with vcds? I did the stated 17mm drop and it was very minimal. Hard to tell its any lower really.

    Seems to be a few different sensors in involved and a controller module.

    Really helpful info, wwhan. Thanks for sharing.

    I only went down 12mm. I wasn't looking for something dramatic, just a bit of reduction in gap. I actually do notice it when viewing from a profile - like walking back to it in a parking lot.

    Note, I'm in Colorado - so having some reasonable amount of ground clearance is important to me in the winter.

    Found this in alldatadiy for my A8 4.0t, as I am getting the same fault code:
    Subframe Mount Sensor 2 (G749) /Subframe Mount Actuator 2 (N514) (left)
    So, presumably, Actuator 1 is on the right =).

    This is on an A8, but seems silly that they would use different identifiers.

    FYI, there is an ETKA part number for the sensor/actuator (for A8: 4H0 907 508), so I wonder if you can just replace that and see if it fixes the issue? On an A8 it looks to be about a 10 minute job to replace the sensor/actuator.
