    Target Price for a 2017 Q5 3.0T

I am looking to order a 2017 Q5 3.0T Premium Plus. I think I need to put in a custom order since all local dealer inventory in my area for a 2017 Q5 3.0T seem to come with the Technology Package. The configuration I want is a Premium Plus in Daytona Gray with the 20" 5-arm design wheels, Sport Interior Package, and Rear side airbags. I am wondering what would be considered a good price on such a configuration, i.e. per cent below MSRP. Has anyone used the Costco Auto Program when purchasing their Q5's. I'm wondering if the Costco Plan would help me avoid all the back and forth negotiation. Also is there anything else I should be aware of when placing an order. Thanks.

Better hurry up and put in a order they will be cutting them off soon for the 2018 models. They already stopped production of the A5/S5's for the 2018 model. The Q5 is next. As far as a discount I offer my customers 3% off factory orders depending on the vehicle. The Q5 you should be able to get at least 3% off I'm not sure how your market is I'm on the east coast

You could actually end up paying more for a custom ordered car without tech than for one off the lot with tech. And the discount you get really depends on not only the region you're in but also varies from dealer-to-dealer. I had one dealer in my area unwilling to go beyond my 6% corporate discount and another within driving distance who offered 11% with no haggling.

^ That. It really is dependent on the dealer's sales strategy. And FWIW, I totally agree on considering one in inventory. Dealers don't order them without the tech package for one simple reason....they don't sell. But they are paying flooring for the ones they have sitting in inventory. Talk to the right dealer and you'll be very pleasantly surprised. With next to zero negotiating -just positive dialog - I too ended up right at 11%, along with Audi Care maintenance and the amount on my trade that I asked for up front. It can be a good deal *and* a positive experience.

Plus, your resale value is likely to see the boost from having the tech package. Good deal up front, small bonus in the distant future...happy. Good luck!

Thanks. I guess I better consider what is inventory and compare against what a custom order will cost me. I've owned all my cars over ten years so not too concerned with resale, but if I can get the tech package at a great price I' take it, though I really do not want it.

Just tell the dealer you don't want the tech package and that you'll keep looking. They'll usually knock it off the price just so you'll buy one today. They really hate to see a seriously potential sell walk out the door and to another dealership. Also, do this on the last day of the month, which is coming up soon. It will work.

Thanks for the great advice. I also have not seen any at my local dealer with the 20" 5-arm design wheels. Do you know if dealers are capable of swapping out the wheel/tire package?
