    Lightweight 19" wheels

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hi everyone,

I'm in need of some help.
I am looking to get a set of lightweight 19" wheels for track use. I know I saw a post a while back that had a 19" wheel that weighed just over 19lbs. I can't seem to find that post now. I have searched the wheel thread as well as the track drivers thread and nothing. I did a search of the S4 forum and couldn't find it. I'll be using these wheels as dedicated track wheels. I'm looking for a 19x8.5 et35-38 (I need to clean a BBK setup but avoid rubbing the fenders).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    -Daniel

Edit: I would also like the wheels to be hubcentric. I don't want to have to mess around with hub rings while at the track.

I think the TSWs are actually > 21lbs.

But OP on a car that weighs 2 tons, I wouldn't sweat a couple of pounds, rotating or not.

    Thanks. I'll look into those.

If anyone has other wheels they can recommend that would be great. I'd like to have a few different options to choose from.

I believe it's the Renn Motorsports wheels that are 19lbs

    Edit: they're actually 20lbs a piece

VMR 803 in your specs is 21.8lbs

I have them but in 19 x 9.5 really like them because I wanted some dish to the wheel.

I saw that thread. I'm waiting for a response from the vendor as to price and availability.

Unfortunately these brands don't list weights on their websites. HRE is probably going to be more than I want to spend. The Avant Gardes that I have now are 29lbs apiece and I think their flow formed wheels are around 23lbs.

I'm hoping that someone here has a set of wheels that they use and know for sure that they are 20lbs or less. This way I know where to start. I don't want to contact a bunch of vendors and waste their time if they don't carry what I want.

Thanks. It looks like it's going to be between the RS51s and a set of TSWs. I just need to get a price one the TSWs.

How is the fitment with 19x9.5 et 35? Do you get rubbing? What size tire?

I rub in the rear on the fender liner when I hit big bumps in the road. I also have my car pretty low on the coilovers so that probably doesn't help lol. 255/35 tire. But I like the way it looks with et35 as it sits pretty flush to the arches.

It's this one. The finish hasn't scratched at all after 2 years of having it. I drove it a bit in the winter as well. Very happy with it

Have you looked at Konigs Flow Formed wheels? They are made with DST (enkei's technology), hub-centric, light, and inexpensive. I got a set of Rennforms for the track, 19x9.5 et 45, 20.8 lbs, can be had for ~$225/each, i love them.

all of the wheels i've had have been flow formed in attempt to keep the wight as close to 20# as i can, so i've done a fair amount of research and have owned a few sets of wheels that might suit your needs.

correct on AG's FF's weighing in around 23#. I have a set in 19x8.5 and thats what they weigh. nice wheels though!
i had a set of vorsteiner vff 103's sent to me (instead of the vff 102's) and they weighed 21.X in 20x10, so a 19" setup should be 20# or less
the TSW Bathurst and Interlagos should both be very close to <20 in a 8.5" width, same with VMR's 803's. the 9.5" - 803's i had were around 23#

    hope that helps

Thank you. This is very helpful. It's exactly the kind of feedback I was looking for.
I'd like to support an Audizine vendor, so now I just need to figure out who sells what brands.

Wait until you see them in person, so awesome. I special ordered them from discount tire direct, i saw them cheaper on Ebay so discount tire matched the price. I got them about a week and a half after i ordered them.
Stage 1 more than you RS3

Edit: I would also like the wheels to be hubcentric.
If you can go 19x9 ET40, the Neuspeed RSe102 is right around 20lbs and has the proper bore. Also takes OEM center caps!

Thanks, but I want to stick with an 8.5" wide wheel. I don't think I can get away with anything larger than a 255 tire, so a wider wheel will only add more weight.

Well, if you really want to save weight then you should think about going down to 18s!

Looks like the Bathurst comes in just over 20lbs in 19x8.5.

I'm going to be buying either an Alcon or AP Racing BBK at the same time. They are both 370mm rotors with 6 piston calipers. It doesn't look like an 18" wheel will clear either of those setups.

Definitely worth confirming if you are a real "weight weenie". You could save some $ too.

I have been running the TSW Bathurst for a few months now and love them. Great looking durable light weight wheel! Or go with the Rohana rf1's put them on my sl63 and not disappointed!
