Heya WAF, thanks for your response.
Did you fit it yourself?
I installed it yesterday evening but have yet had a change to drive it to experience the sound.
So the induction sound was loud? Im aware that the B8 has two more items which muffles the induction sound... the Turbo Muffler as well as that Air Box (on the cold side cooler line)?
It be interesting to know how much each item out of the 3 reduces the turbo spool in percentage.
What I found in my installation yesterday, which sounds like what you've experienced too.
When using the two OEM rubber bushes/grommets (from the OEM air box) for the two legs under the Volant shroud... it doesn't work... the thing wobbles like anything... and the intake duct part doesn't 100% line up with the OEM duct above the radiator support.
I currently have it with 1 rubber grommet... the hole closer to the radiator and it seems to make it sit a bit more firm... but its still pretty disappointing. So you reckon the APR is about the same?
Yeah aftermarket items just never fit anywhere as near as OEM...
have you got any pics of the bracket you fabricated, or was it a previous car of yours?
cheers
