    Rear Shelf Removal

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I am trying to get the rear shelf off my 2008 Audi A6 Quattro 3.2 sedan to treat the discoloration of the fabric from the sun. I could push the 3 clips from below (from the trunk) to release the front side of the shelf, but the back of the shelf won't move. Looking for advise. Thanks!

What's your plan to deal with the discoloration? I have the same problem, but haven't decided how to fix it.

I just found an excellent DIY below and I am in the process of using it. I can't seem to take out the speaker grills and will reluctantly have to paint them as well.

I plan to use this fabric paint: http://www.joann.com/upholstery-spra...#sz=90&start=1

No problem; this has been posted in the B8 forum for a while, and has been pretty helpful although not complete. If you're dying black, I'd suggest you check out @avantagg 's build, he dyed a headliner black with a product called Dyna Flo (not sure on the spelling).

Well I was planning to do exactly that. I'll go check his build.

I've learned a lot from others here and have been happy to share some experiments and swaps of my own. Props to @bakedziti for posting the how-to on the headliner drop. That was the motivation I needed to tackle my avant :)

I used this stuff for the soft fabric on the headliner: http://www.jacquardproducts.com/dye-na-flow.html

And this for the harder plastic parts like pillars: http://duplicolor.com/product/vinyl-and-fabric-coating
