Just wanted to start the thread talking only about the setup and gather information for all memebers looking to lowered their car in the future, hopefully this will help, as I was looking for this information before i lower mine, but couldn't find a clear information.

Please provide the followings and 2~3 images of side view and floor to fender measurement.

Hey, I'm looking to lowering my 13' A6 2.0 Quattro. How do you like the ride? Did you look at any other setups prior to picking up the KW V1's?

I'm looking for a setup that gives me the priority of Comfort first and then Handling / Looks second and third. I know the stock suspension will give me the comfort suspension I'm looking for but I would like the best of both worlds, so please don't troll me :). I'm currently riding on the stock 20" from Audi with summer tires but I also have 18x8 TSW that I'm about to slap on because they have all-season tires for the northeast winters.

Anybody else post your measuring height when lowered and in dynamic mode. So far I see 26.2 above on 255 tires. I just measured mine outside which were originally dialed into 265 tires and its higher at 27.2 to 27.5. I'm going back to get my height alignment on my winter wheels wheels which are back to 255 tires. Would like to see other measurements for S6s.

I'll get mine when it's not raining cats and dogs. Lowered 15mm via vcds. Will go lower with either links (which I have) or the cete module this spring with new wheels/tires

I was told that KW is the closest to stock sports suspension (comfort level wise)
My observation is when road condition is smooth, this is indeed very true, but if road condition is not as great you can feel every bump.
That being said, I drive mostly local (like 90%) so I like the setup, but if I were to drive 90% on highway, I would think twice.
Are you on stock sports or non sports?
Is your main concern to lower it or just to get rid of the wheel to fender gap?

Hey, thanks for the response. I'm not sure if I have sport suspension, is there a way to determine if I have the sport package? I picked up the car as a CPO and don't recall it mentioning "sport package" other than 20" wheels. Comfort is high on the list but I want to bridge the wheel/fender gap than lowering the car (to the floor).

I'm running my winter setup right now..
    Wheel Spec: 19x7.5 ET33
    Tire Size: 235/45/19
Suspension setup: S6 air suspension with 10mm VCDS lowering
Floor to center of fender measurement: ~27.25" front ~27.5" rear
I didn't really want it dropped too much...looks perfect to me in summer with 20x9 ET35 255/35/20 but looks a bit like it's wearing a dress in the winter since the wheels are so deep set. Fine by me though keeps all the snow/salt mostly in the wheelwell.
Also FWIW the winter tire diameter is about 0.4" taller than summer so that drops it down a bit in summer.

if you just want to get rid of wheel/fender gap, you can always get bigger tire, it will minimize it slightly, obviously it's won't get rid of all the gap completely.
also, if you have paddle shift, then you have sports package.

thanks for the info on paddle shift, i definitely do not have the sports package then.

appreciate the tip on the bigger tires but i'm not looking to go that route as it will also lift up my car as well which i'll probably hate even more :)

I found this pic, this is probably the smallest gap you can get without lowering, I was running 295/30/20 tire setup vs 255/35/20 lowered on KW.

Sounds like the Bilstein b12 pro kit is the best lowering option from reading around, what I don’t know is how it compares to sport suspension. I have standard suspenion, but I came from an a4 with sport suspension and I thought it was a great ride! Waaay better than my previous Gti.

if you rub a little, look under the fender and you will see a screw towards the rear of both front fenders. unscrew that screw (it's a torx 25) and you will have more lowering leeway. my s7 has this. prob s6 too

Looking to lower my 2014 A6 with sport suspension currently at 70k. Leaning towards Kw V1. My question What impact does this have on switch between Dynamic/Comfort settings?

I travel 100-miles round-trip each day most of which is highway so comfort mode comes into play when bone tired and looking to just cruise.

    A6/S6 suspension "Lowered" setup thread

C7 a6 lowered with H&R spring came from oem sport spring.
    20x9 et35 wrapped with 275/35/20.

I didn’t have issues with oem sport suspension. Now that i have H&R springs it rubs in the front hard turns. Also rubs in the back if had 3 people in the back seats on hard bumps.
Yes u will loose ride comfort on h&r. I feel the bumps even more now. But it looks much better than before. IMG_3210.JPGIMG_3206.JPGIMG_2996.JPG

So i guess i will have to go with 255 tires.
For that reason i am selling my tires it is Michelin pilot sport a/s3 plus. 275/35/20. 9/32 tread left it is almost new. If anyone interested let me know.

I can also sell the whole set up if anyone interested.

For aggressive Setups or setups in general it would be a good thing to add Wheel Alignment specs, I'll add mine in later.

HRE FF04 in Matte Midnight Blue (These wheels are not recommended fitment from HRE due to how aggressive they are) but fitment is spot on once dialed in.
    Wheel Spec: 20x9 ET25
    Tire Size: 255/35/20
Suspension setup: Stock Air Ride Suspension, VCDS 17mm drop, Airmatic Lowering Links
Floor to center of fender measurement: 26.5 inch on all 4 wheels in Dynamic mode. Haven't measure in Comfort mode.

    A6/S6 suspension "Lowered" setup thread

    Wheel Spec: 19” factory
    Tire Size: 255/40/19
    Suspension setup: Eibach pro kit
Floor to center of fender measurement: 27 3/8”
1.2” lower front, 1” lower rear from non sport.

Comments: No regrets and no drawbacks really, car is great on highway but handles very well. Front camber is stuck at -1deg according to Les Schwab.

Did the springs ever settle and drop a bit lower?
Only asking because the gap on yours appears to be bigger than mine.

is there a reason to have your setup lowered on both lowering links AND VCDS? is there a negative to lower it using just via lowering links OR VCDS?

I have a 2014 Audi TDI on Lowering springs for about 85K miles. The car currently has 120k on it. It has come time to replace some control arms and struts. I would like to know if I can get lower with the H&R ultra-low coilovers or any coilovers for that matter over the lowering springs I currently have. From all the images and post Ive looked over all the coilovers do over the springs is even out the back to the front but do not offer any more low?

You could do the H&R race springs they are lower than the sport, by quite a bit. The H&R street coilovers are adjustable so you can dial-in your desired ride height. The lower you go the worse the ride will be, very choppy...IIRC there is also an H&R track coilover too, but the ride quality on MN roads would suck. I guess it depends on what you want as an end result.

    Wheel Spec: 20x9 ET25
    Tire Size: 255/35/20
Suspension setup: Stock Air Ride Suspension, VCDS 17mm drop, Airmatic Lowering Links
Floor to center of fender measurement: 26.5 inch on all 4 wheels in Dynamic mode. Haven't measure in Comfort mode.

Wheel Spec: 20x8.5 OEM 20" sport wheels
    Tire Size: 255/35/20
Suspension setup: Eibach Pro Kit w/ Bilstein B4 Sport Shocks
Should be 1"-1.2" lower than stock non-sport
Comments: Zero rubbing, good ride, little to no scrapping, and pictured here with 7mm front and 8mm rear spacers (I would recommend bigger spacers lol)

Nice!!!! This is how low i want to be. I know this question has probably come up so many times, but what are the codes i need to lower via VCDS? Im new to this. Here is my before and after setup after i added Airmatic Lowering Links.
