I've been looking for a dashcam for a while, everyone really loves the blackvue's, but this waylens one looks pretty rad. The only feature it's missing is motion detection, but I can't imagine with all that hardware, they couldn't do it.....

    That looks interesting.

Is it just me, or is the website a bit vague and redundant? E.g. I could not find anything regarding how long the camera will run on the in-camera battery. I understand it is new, but seems like things such as battery life would be addressed since it can be pre-ordered.

Buddy just ordered one, waiting for it to come in before I jump on one. Will report back.

I kickstarted it, cam should be here by the end of the month. They are working glitches out so far. Definitely a few issues with it but hoping it's good

Seems like a nice option to record track events - not so sure about using it as a dash cam.

What's the bitrate on the recording?

Capacitor is a much better option vs a battery if you want to use this as a full time dash cam.

But again as something to use for track events, this looks like a nice option.

Just wanted to bump this to see if there was any feedback on this camera yet. Thinking about it and would like some real world reviews.

I love my Blackvue setup. I use motion detection all the time for parking mode.

My last dash cam was a Transcend Drivepro 200. Recently upgraded to a Roav. Build quality and wifi connection is much better. Image and audio quality is also improved. Not bad for the price either.

Hardwired? What fuse location did you tap for power? Constant?

Can't wait to get mine in from the MassDrop GB that's on right now.

Can't advertise the link here, but folks should get on it, I think there's only 1 day left.

the only issue i have with the Blackvue is that the camera tech is now 3-4 years old. There are cheap amazon suction cup dash cams that provide 5x better camera quality, especially at night. the rear camera is only 720p in 2017?
that is the only reason i have been holding off on buying a blackvue. if they come out with better camera tech with the same designs/integration, i'd be the first to order.

7th fuse from the bottom. Also, I need to clean up my wiring. I'm using an Add-a-Fuse along with a cigarette lighter socket.

Not constant, switched, but the dash camera has a Parking Mode along with a built in battery. It powers on with the car and shuts down with the car. I'm curious how it holds up in the extreme heat but so far so good. Capacitors are typically better in high heat.

I completely agree, my problem was I wanted something pretty much invisible that just worked. No messing with it, no fuss, it just works.

    The blackvue does just that.

A bit expensive but the peace of mind and occasional cool footage is worth it.

@omegis83, your fusebox is immaculate compared to mine.
