    Oil change @300 miles?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So I picked up a 2016 S3 a month or so ago and I havent been driving as I have been driving the tdi I have thats about to get bought back- I assume this car has been sitting on the dealer's lot for a while- but I have a screen up now that says an oil change is due (im guessing based on time interval)- so my question is should the oil be changed w so few miles (~350 now) on it? I am not sure if the initial oil in it has additives or assembly oils etc that should remain in it until the car is broken in? Thoughts? Thanks for any input!

So you have only 300 miles on the odometer?

If so, I'd call up the dealership and ask why the maintenance minder for an oil change has popped up.

Usually the first oil change is at the 5k marker.

If it's been a year the dealer might hassle you for not doing it. Check the manufacturing date.

I had the same thing happen, apparently they are supposed to reset the timer on the oil change clock once it arrives at port. Took it to the dealer and they reset it in 5 minutes.
