a4 b6 1.8ts klonk in drivetrain? prop support bearing? How to change?

    Hi

i have this weird klonk when driving of and between every gearshift.. kinda feels like i need to pick up the drivetrain to get no klonk..

    what i have checked is.

    Engine mounts - ok
transmisson bushing - ok actually poly filled by me
reardiff - ok and poly filled by me.

What i Think it might be is the propshaft bearing busing?

if i take my hand on the shaft i can move the baring around in the bushing kinda good so i dont Think itīs the actual bearhing,.. but the bushing around it?

can i drill around in the bushing and polyfill it??

    or the actual propshaft itself?

anyone got an idea of what it is??

if i order a 034 motorsport propshaft carrier bearing.. is there a diy on how to change it?

i work in the military industry so there shouldnīt be a problem.. but i want a guide or something to get me some tips and trix?

pls someone give me some proper tips cause itīs destrying my experiance with the b6 i just hate driving it around with aklonk.. feels like the care is from the 60s.

    /André

Not sure on transmission "bushing" but what about your transmission mounts? What transmission do you have? I'll assume "engine mounts ok" also includes the snub mount?

    Yes transmission mounts is good.

Snub mount is avout 7months old.. And also good.. I can comfortly say that it's either diff carrier bearhing/bushing or the actual propshaft itself.. Altough i need to know for certain.. Any ways of figuring it out?

And do anyone have a diy for replacing the propshaft support bearing?

Might be the shifter itself. Check out JHM's offerings. Their shifter replaces the rubber mounts with delrin, and they offer a stabilizer bar bushing that also is delrin.

I feel like the stabilizer bushing dropped my 0-60 time by at least half a second, as the shifting is much more direct and locked down (even with the full mounts in my sig).

Hmm.. No its notnthe shifter cause it happends when im in gear.. Like whem im on throttle.. Then off then on.. And i've tried every bushing the drivetrain itself isnt moving thay much its solid.. Its something from gearbog to diff.. Can the diff become worn out and make a clunk?

Before the JHM trio my shifter would knock around about an inch-inch and a half - even with solid engine mounts, snub, tanny, and rear diff mount. There is play on the stock shifter, its worth a look taking a peek. Might be as simple as a torn bushing.

I had all these types of things going on a few years back. Changing out the rear diff mount (apikol) cleaned it all up.

What is polyfill? Sorry I'm in Australia.

Update for all that google or whoever have the same klonk and all bushing is good..
iīve found out my center support was bad after pulling on it horisontal hard.. alot of movement is bad and leaves a klonk at start and gearshift..

buy some window weld poly urethane glue and weld the bushing tight..

    works perfectly
