    High miles engine ticking

Hey guys I attached a video of a ticking I'm hearing from the engine. Is this normal for the 2.0 engines? I have not done the timing chain tensioner yet because it doesn't seem that it needs it yet I will soon. My car is at 121k miles.

IMO our engines sort of sound like diesels....but what you hear around :20 doesn't sound normal to me.

Do it before the misfires start. Might be too late though.

Then maybe those are crapping out. It's hard to tell. If you take it in and have them do a leak down test they might goodwill you some. Depends on the dealer I guess.

the ticking sounds pretty normal, mine sounds like that and i've walked past other B8's that i've heard like that, and also alot of people on here report the same i guess thats just how the 2.0TFSI sounds.

but yea that screech sound right around the end when you see the alternator, that isn't normal i've had a similar sound and ended up having to replace my alternator for a bad bushing/bearing or something, but replaced the whole unit. and got a new belt at the same time too. but definitely get the alternator checked out. and i would do the timing tensioner and chain update as soon as you can because it can happen out of nowhere and i wouldnt risk that.

also the sucking sound you hear when you get to the front of the engine could be the pcv diaphragm. i remember hearing the exact sound plus i started getting loss of power out of nowhere, luckily thats only a $20 fix on amazon
