Looking for help on pricing a left-over 2016 base TT

    Good afternoon,

I recently decided to take a run at a TT. I've never owned an Audi or a German car for that matter either. I really like the car a lot but am very new with researching and buying Audi. I live in Florida and several dealerships have some left-over 2016 models sitting next to the new 2017 and I would imagine that coming up towards the end of October that they NEED to move the 2016 cars off their lot since they already have the 2017 now. What I noticed in my research is that Invoice pricing on the TT is only about 3-4k less than MSRP. I am also starting to realize that the TT is a low volume niche car that may not need to be "blown out" to clear out the new model like other cars do.

Does anyone have an opinion or experience with a TT or an Audi in general for negotiating on a "left over" last years model? Since the TT is a low volume car is it immune from that type of pricing or should I expect for a dealer to be hungry to move one their left over 2016 cars.

Thanks for the help. Look forward to hearing some responses.

I'm a finance guy for an Audi dealer in Naples Florida. Give me a call if you want to talk about a deal. Also a good way to start is to build the car you want on Truecar. Makes things easy for shoppers. 239-273-0004

I just picked up a new 2017 base TT for the girlfriend - fantastic car! You should be able to get a great deal on a 2017 if you shop around. I found over 100/month difference from what one dealer offered vs what I ultimately was able to negotiate. That said, before I was looking at a left-over 16 S3 and they were pretty aggressive to move that car to make way for the incoming 17's so you might get a slightly better deal on the 16 but I doubt it would be all that much. I would personally push for a 17.

^ i think 10% off is good estimate. A dealership near me offered 1.5k below invoice as his first offer for a left over 16
