I'm not selling or affiliated with this guy, but I just bought one and figured I'd help you guys needing to update your 2g mmi navigation

Yeah it is but I've bought so much stuff on Ebay I'm not terribly worried about a $20 purchase. Ebay will refund me my money if something happens and then it becomes their problem.

I didn't even notice that in their add. Maybe? Since it's 10yrs old and doesn't have as much use since it doesn't take traffic into account maybe.
This car was made before the iphone was even released. I figured for the price it was worth a shot.

I'll update you monday when I get it. Mine has already been marked as shipped.

FWIW, I bought that same map from eBay a few months back from a seller in Eastern Europe somewhere, and it worked fine.

Good point about eBay covering it.

I've been a longtime buyer and seller on there and though I say it myself have great feedback.

However on 2 occasions, both car sales, I had cause for complaint and felt pretty let down by the then eBay/PayPal structure.

On a different note, I discovered I have 3g MMI so I guess this is not the one for me. Shame.

Well... It updated and now after restart says check dvd. And old dvd does the same thing.

Mine should come in next week :-D Thanks for the intel! Im in the same boat with the urban growth here in south florida. Everytime I leave work with a navi destination it think I'm offroading for a good 5 minutes before it recognizes a street lolol

I found a seller that has sold quite a few (~74 sold) of the 2016 MMI 2G Navi DVD for USA + Canada for $14.95

Also found a DIY MMI 2G & bluetooth update kit for 05-08 C6's for $33 shipped. (~146 sold)

Hasn't anyone tried these? Thinking about getting these. My navi has been showing "please check navigation DVD" so I hope this will fix that and also update my MMI and street maps at the same time. Not to bad for $48 total just hope it works and fixes my issue.

Thats not your mmi version. That's your Nav info.

You can find your mmi version under a different tab, I believe in car setup, at the bottom iirc.

Example, here's my mmi version screen.

Sw= software and mines the original 11.9.0 051



I too need to upgrade, since I have the original.
I have bluetooth phone already but not sure what else I'll
benefit from.

I see in that link it shows the warning screen will be gone after update, That ALONE is worth the update!

Edit: I just emailed that seller asking about some extra information. Look forward to hearing back from him, and I'll probably purchase it. For $30 to be given the instructions and correct update path and the cds... Totally worth it.
Since you're new, there are different software versions for our cars. And depending on which one you have will determine which update path you have to do. By updating to the wrong cd/software in the wrong order you can ruin your mmi!

You have 2004/2005 year software 10.7.0. its stock. Never updated. Latest available for MMI 2G HIGH you have is 44.6.0 (as installed on 2008-2009 MMIs)

There were no updates for MMI 2G past 2009 (as AUDI went to MMI 3G HIGH in 2010 models and no support for 2G anymore)

Bulls*it.
No reason not to have update DVDs past 2016. AUDI releases them on yearly basis.
There is no ETA on 2017 maps but I do not see any reason why 2016 should be the last year of updates... (only if "end of the world" anticipated and I'm not aware of it! )

Not having further update medium at certain point in time does not say anything about the future.
This guy on EBAY you mentioned just want to push you into buying... Some Sales strategy I guess!

This is map database info where you can see the timestamp when the database was "closed"/"locked"/"compiled" and sent to production: 2003 July 4 at 16:40:38... so its 2004 year map (as it takes couple of months from close of DB to actual release)

Those CDs are for 2G.

MMI 2G: Navigation drive in trunk / no SD cards / CD changer in glovebox / low resolution display
MMI 3G: Navigation is HDD based in center console / has DVD drive / no CD changer / 2 SD card slots

On 2010 there should be MMI 3G already.

MMI 3G soft and maps are directly loaded to hard drive (no navigation DVD) via SD cards.

It's still worth updating isn't it.

Hell, if it gets rid of the start up screen warning it's worth the 40 bucks by itself in my opinion.
I can't stand having to hit it every single time lol
