    F21 Stage 3- Car

I'm sure that this has been asked but I've been looking around and can't find anything real relating to it. I recently installed F21s after I blew my K03s and will be running a stage 3- setup for the time being. Car was already a stage 2+ and I'm just curious as to what kind of performance numbers that I can expect. Thanks

Stage 3- and 2+ aren't a whole lot different. For the less than $1k that it costs for the tune, maf and injectors to make it full stage 3, that is the cheapest $/hp that you can do on the car.

The biggest concern here is to make sure you do not run to much boost and go lean.

Do you have an AFR gauge in the car if not I would highly recommend one.

    Thanks,

    Alex.

I've also ready about that being an issue, I don't have one but do plan on installing one. I was reading up on the pure performance stage 3f tune, just have to do the fuel. Any reviews on Pure Performance?

Since you are fairly local why not check out European Performance Labs.

and stop by our shop while you are in the parking lot!

    Thanks,

    Alex.

Are you still running the stage 2 tune? If so keep any eye on boost because you may overboost due to the difference in WG cracking pressure between the k03s and F21s. For sure get an AFR gauge and if I where you I would stay out of boost until you know exactly what your AFR is so you don't run lean. Most stage 3- setups will run a 5bar FPR also.

If you are already going to be paying for a tune and injectors, why would you not spend the extra $100 or whatever for a larger MAF housing? That $100 for the maf housing could be worth like 60whp to you (if their 3f setup is really ~330whp, like they are saying). It doesn't make sense to go in half-steps on this IMO.

The only justification I could see for the 3f setup would be for someone with a tiptronic who doesn't want the higher power of full stage 3 and is avoiding the higher power because they are afraid of their transmission failing.

After spending thousands of dollars on turbos, a tune and injectors, not spending the last $100 for an additional 60whp doesn't make any sense (for someone with a 6-speed). Again, just my opinion

I did the same thing as you, Feels exactly the same but boost comes in a little later and doesn't run out of breath at higher rpm's. Only difference you'll notice is that, and louder spool and deeper exhaust.

My only concern from there is issues with an rs4 clutch not being able to hold the power

I wouldn't worry about that to be honest.

I had the same setup personally and the RS4 clutch setup held it just fine.

As long as you are not launching the car you should be fine.

    Thanks,

    Alex.

Me. The 3F tune is perfect for daily driving. I have stock maf, fpr and fuel pump (although it's new).

I was in the same boat. Was going to just do a stage 3- but like evryone else said for a small percentage of what u payed for Turbos you can make it a full stage 3 and get alot more hp out of it while still being reliable and not killing new turbos

I've got 25k miles on this setup, and so far so good. Boost spikes to 22psi and holds at 20psi. The tune cuts in some places, but thats built in due to the stock maf, fuel pump. I have EV14 550cc injectors though. The stock fuel pump keeps up with it fine, as it was replaced 25k miles ago with the turbos and lots of other items.
