    engine machine work?

i just curious about what machine work people have done to their 2.7.
how many people have or have not used torque plates. did you use them for both boring and or finish hone?
has anyone get there main caps aligned hone? and if do not need to use over sized bearings? to my knowledge if you run studs this is a must.
how about decking the block? do you have to worry about piston to vavle clearances?
hopefully some of you have had some of this perfromed and can give your input.

Why would using studs require an align bore?

For the same reason using any sort of different fastener on engine parts would... the parts distort.

mains, rods (big ends), etc... changing fasteners and TQ applied changes the distortion on the bearings...

you always line hone when changing fasteners any good machine shop will tell you this.

Interesting. With all of the chatter recently regarding engine builds, 2.7 limitations etc. I wonder how many people on here have actually line bored the mains when installing ARP studs?

thats kinda why im asking. how many people that are building a "built block " how far have they taken it.
ive talked to a couple of very reputable machine shops and they all say studs are the way to go with align honing the block.
im personally not going as of now with main studs because i already have oem bolts.
say you did align hone would you not need oversized main bearings?

I wonder how many people honed with the studs AND heads torqued.

I'm not aware of oversize bearings for an enlarged main bore, only oversize bearings for smaller crank journals if the crank needed to be turned.

    Does such a thing exsist?
