    A7 Resonator Delete and X-Pipe installed...blah

I picked up my car from the exhausts shop today. I had the resonator removed and an X-Pipe installed. To be honest I am kind of unimpressed with the results. I know it was inexpensive so I am not going to lose any sleep over it but it made only a very small difference. The car does sound better but if I had to do it over again I would just save my money and get a full exhaust.

Anyone on here do the x-pipe first then get an exhaust? Any feedback on the difference?

Different cars, but I had straight pipes and AWE tips installed on my S6. Volume definitely increased, but not nearly enough to justify the $1k it cost me. Got a smoking deal here on a used Milltek non-res and that was a much more noticeable change. IMO, the center resonator delete should only be done if you are looking for a marginal increase in exhaust sound.

It will be louder if you make it quad opening.

Yeah, resonators alone won't cut it, had to have them removed and then the centre muffler as well, the latter replaced with an x-pipe. Do you have normal or sports exhaust and have you had the centre muffled removed? Curious as the centre muffler has an x-chamber in it so how you have described it means you now have 2 cross over points which could cancel each other out i.e. less noise?

I talked to the exhaust shop and you're correct. I should not have said "installed" an x-pipe as there is one existing. We did remove the resonator

So the two small can shaped resonators are gone, now remove the suitcase sized centre muffler and I think you'll be happier

I think I removed the center muffler and not the two can shaped things. So I should remove those too? Maybe that's why there wasn't much difference

If they only removed the one which is the size of a suit case then it will be quiet. I did the same initially and replaced it with an xpipe and the noise was very subdued. Then the removal of the resonators (two coke can shapes ones, one on each pipe in front of the central suitcase muffler) really made a difference.
