Quick Question for the SoCal Team

My usual stop is in the B6 S/4 forum.
Just recently while posting in the B6 S/4 forum that I was directed to this section.
In the B6 S/4 forum, there's many DIY enthusiasts there.
My question deals with who's completed a timing chain service as a DIY project in the SoCal Team.

I get the impression that most members simply take it to a shop for most if not all of their Audi's service needs.
Thanks in advance for your comments.

The rear chain was done at the dealer a couple years ago. The front timing belt was replaced by me this weekend using a kit from ECS Tuning.

I like working on my own cars, and I've been reading a lot of timing chain DIYs too. I'm still on the fence. I don't need to do it yet but I am at 150k and I bought the car at 112k. Im not sure if the previous owner did it before 100k, but I highly doubt it.

Are you thinking about doing it soon? If I were to have a shop do it, I would probably drive up to Lathrop and have JHM do it. I use to live in NorCal and didn't realize they are so highly regarded all over the world. I guess I was spoiled being local.

It also helps to have an extra car (S2000) to drive while the Audi is out of commission.

We've done a few of them. It's a lot of work no doubt. If you have any questions or interested in some pricing let me know.
