    ECS Engine Mounts?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hello all, forgive me this has been posted numerous times. I just wanted clarification on the ECS engine mounts.

Looking at their website, there are multiple options for Left vs. Right engine mounts. If I wanted to get a set, which one would I need? Also, is there a huge advantage getting the engine mounts? I am getting the front/rear differential mounts & transmission mounts installed next week -- just wondering if it's worth the extra money to get the engine mounts as well.

    Thanks!

I did engine mounts and noticed a big difference, until you get used to it and forget what it used to feel like lol. Went with 034. But you would need the left and the right . 034 had them as a package, so i'm not sure what ECS does.

So, have your engine mounts gone bad man? You can surely tell if they're bad or not. You can pull your underpanel and check them. If you see some leaks, you know they've gone bad. Or if your engine is vibrating much more than it used to.

No, they're not bad. Just wondering as the shop I'm using said "Oh, no engine mounts?"

So, it got me thinking -- maybe Audizine has been pleased with just swapping them with 034/ECS. But, doesn't look like it's a major player right now.

I'd go with 034, but I'd also wait until the stock ones go bad to replace them...

Sounds good thanks. Just wanted to make sure I didn't need something else.

Looking forward to the transmission and rear diff mounts!

    ECS Engine Mounts?

Ok -- I called the shop to book an appointment and get a labor estimate. It comes out to $800+? (Transmission and rear diff mounts)

Is that correct or did the shop misunderstand what was getting installed? The parts cost $170 from ECS and both are rated as "easy" installs.

Maybe I'll just install the transmission mount for now...

$800? Dude, seriously, download the install PDFs and take a look over them. The trans mount is just two bolts you undo and then put them back in. If you can turn a screw driver, you can do work like this. The rear diff mounts are a little bit more time than that, but still not difficult. If you have any mechanical capability, it's easy to do. I did the trans mount without even needing to jack up the car, but I'm pretty thin and can scoot in under the car a little bit and reach each of the bolts. I'm serious dude, the shop is robbing you blind.

Your shop must have been mistaken, it's an hour or hour and a half DIY job at most.

They also claimed having to get a realignment because they have to drop the subframe. The PDF for the rear diff doesn't state anything about dropping the frame. I hope the shop just misunderstood. I'll just show them the parts in-person.

Are you guys saying for both tranny and rear diff mounts it takes 1.5 hours?

I'd love to do it myself, but I'm not going under the car unless I can safely jack it up or find a bay to walk under it.

Dude, for the rear diff mounts I just jacked up each side and put it on jack stands in the back. Then I used the factory jack with a small piece of 2x4 and turned it by hand (without the crank bar) slowly to jack up the diff up as it needed to according to the directions to install them. Now, if you're talking about the subframe inserts from 034 for the back, then those are a bit more involved, but that subframe drop shit this shop is telling you is bullshit. I'm gonna tell you why they're telling you all this shit and giving you a high price. Because you're bringing them such simple parts to install, they know you don't know shit and can pretty much treat you like an idiot, so they're jacking up the price to make a quick buck. I'm telling you dude... you're getting taken for a ride, but that's your call man. Good luck.

Just download the install docs and provide them to the shop - then ask them to review and update their quote prior to starting any work..... If they still stand by $800 - it's time for a new shop.

My guess is they didn't understand the parts - and were going by the OEM replacement procedure.

Will do for sure. I will not accept getting pushed around by the shop; I know I'm not completely versed in all this but I know when I'm getting thrown around.

Will update you guys once I get more info.

Ha, the shop called back and said they misunderstood. $200 for everything. That's sound better. We'll see if I do that or have a DIY project...

Dude, the drive train mounts are literally the easiest thing to install on this car. It took me about half hour to do each one, including jacking up the car for each one as I installed each part one at a time to test improvement.
