    Lowering my Audi A4 B6

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm wanting to install some lowered springs on my car in order to lower it. But i'm having trouble finding any lowering springs that fit my vehicle; 2003 Audi a4 B6 2L. I'm practically looking for any lowering springs that lower the car 20mm or more (it's pretty high at the moment).
I've checked Autobarn and other part stores in QLD & had no luck with finding any that fit my car. The only set off springs I could find are these Vogtland sport Springs from the US/Germany http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vogtland-low...-/161792873885

I'm just wondering if anyone knows where I could possibly find a set of lowered springs in Australia or if Vogtland springs are any good?

    Cheers,
    Jai

It's sad. None of that shit belongs on a b6. Maybe a six-four Impala.

Its what happens when honda civic kids get their hands on an audi they can afford. And completely destroy it.

Sad thing is the new booty kids all think this shit is cool and are doing it to every car.

@OP, skip springs and get yourself some ST coilovers or vogtlands. Best bang for your buck and you can dial it in to how you like. Putting lowering springs on some old shocks isn't the best idea.

No one cares about big turbo builds. It's air ride, camber and tire stretch. plus our cars are cheap now so they're more obtainable to the kid scene.

Stretched tyres actually look pretty monster on the RS4's. Especially with those wider wheel arches. Anything less doesnt fit the bill.

The Rs4 has wide fenders for a reason
So you can stuff wide wheels with meat on them under there. Stretching tires is not for performance cars. Hit the track or heavy cornering and blow your tire off or destroy your wheels. No sir

I supposed. I know stretching hits performance, it's also a horrible ride too. Does lowering also not affect performance?

Lowering the car with quality coilovers enhances performance. Stiffens the ride around corners. All race cars have coilovers. Also thicker sway bars help dramatically.

Lowering the car lowers the center of gravity and reduces body roll. Sway bars increase the stability and reduction of body roll.

Stretched tires to nothing other than leave less rubber than desired.

Stretched tires are for parking lot poser kids that vape and use their parents credit cards for car stuff.

To be fair, In Australia it's illegal to own a high powered car until I'm 20/21 that even includes a 1.8t quattro. The overall wheel/tyre rolling diameter has to stay within a certain percent of the original. So practically any amount of camber would result in a $400 fine and defect. It's incredibly hard to mod a car without getting defected in Australia. So I thought lowering the car via springs or coilovers would be a good start because the stock ride height is practically on a lift kit.

Defect: In that it does not comply with the vehicle standards, you may be issued with a defect notice and/or an on-the spot fine.
