Nokians summer tire, i have a set and love them, more of a touring/sport summer than a raw PSS summer but still very good.

Great deal but they are 2012 stock, summer 2017 they are going to be 5 years old. Just worth mentioning - I don't know how much does a 5 year old tire affect the integrity and grip - maybe someone with more experience/knowledge can elaborate. If not much I'm getting a set for the next summer.

I read the 2 reviews - one guy checked when he got them and they were 2012.

Significantly affects it. I have Pirelli P Zero Nero bought from Tire Rack at 25% cost 3 years old. They never squeal when starting to lose grip, you just suddenly start sliding. Basically less grip and less feel.

If you have ever driven with a summer tire in freezing temps, it's a similar feel. Hard rubber. But at $50 I'd probably throw them on to whip some shittys!

So you also bought a "new" set of P Zero's & through exhaustive side by side testing with the "3 year old" P zeros you were led to this conclusion about Nokian tires? Breaking balls, but not sure your comparison is valid. I bought a set for the hell of it. If they suck then oh well. Thanks OP for the heads up.

No arguing they're different tires. But rubber contains oil and over time they will dry out and harden. Hard rubber won't grip as well. Hard rubber is why summer tires suck in cold weather so it might be a similar feel with these dated tires.

Someone asked, I chimed in. Chill.

FYI, you can call simple tire after making a purchase and ask about the age of the tire. If it doesn't meet your expectation you can cancel your order before they ship.

I've had these for a couple years. They wear nicely, are pretty quiet, and quite good in the rain.

If you're looking for a max performance dry tire, I recommend looking at other options. I definitely would not take these to a track day. I wouldn't get them again as I would like more performance through the corners.

You're not missing out on much. A summer tire with a 300 wear rating? Must be hard as rocks.
Life has taught me never try to make something idiot proof, they'll simply come up with a better idiot.
I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong.
I have neither the time, nor the crayons to explain this to you properly.
