    Spring Install Cost?

I called around to a few shops today and I was very surprised at the quotes I got for installing H&R Springs on my 2013 A7.

I wanted to get a ballpark from folks on here. What have others paid?

I have swapped springs on lots of cars and it's always pretty straightforward. I am pretty busy right now so I figured I would have a shop do it. Based on the quotes I am getting, is this a much more complex job on an A7 than other cars?

    Spring Install Cost?

The shops I called wanted $700-$900. Seemed way high, I figured there was something I was missing.

Anyone have suggestions for a reasonable shop in Marin area?

Man 150-200 for install is amazingly cheap. I've NEVER had spring install that cheap for any cars that I've had. I would say typical rate for me has been about 500.

Talking of springs has anyone fitted the KW adjustable lowering springs to their car? Thinking of some for my RS. The price the Op quoted is quite steep, even on a DRC car I wouldn't pay that. Talking about 3 hours labor and an alignment so 4 hours max?

I have a KW coilover kit installed under my C7.
Very impressed from the rid quality!

Thanks Los Cuentos but rather than coilovers I'm just looking at their adjustable lowering springs. I want to retain DRC on my RS7

I had quotes of between $300-600. Paid closer to the latter as they were reputable and I know the guys. They complained about the tool, or lack there of. I guess there is of course a specific VAG tool that makes this really easy but if you don't have it, not so much. It is to compress the spring for removal.

Then, I brought it to the dealer for a laser alignment as close to my spec as possible. I know the service writer and they give you a print out of what they could achieve.

All in, it was like $750 plus the cost of the springs.
Do it right, or don't bother.
