ATW Engine and Trans in AEB car?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have a 2000 ATW 1.8 engine and trans that I want to swap into my 99 AEB car. I have the computer for the ATW. Sounds like I will need swap in the AEB throttle body. Anybody know what else I might need to consider?

It's the same engine with a different throttle body and a small port head.

If your head is still good on the AEB, swap the head over to the ATW for arguably better performance and no Secondary air injection hassle.

Otherwise, you'll need to plug that hole on the back of the ATW head.

Lastly, if you want to run the ATW ECU, you're looking at converting from drive by cable to drive by wire, which involves wiring inside the car and a new pedal assembly.

    Thanks for the info.
So I can basically "plug and play" into the cars existing wiring loom?
The head on the AEB is no good. How is the best way to handle the throttle body issue?

use AEB throttle body and ECU,

AEB ECU also does not use a MAP sensor.

buy one of these to plug SAIP hole on ATW head

Not sure about other emissions components on AEB engine, but should be a straight swap almost.

You'll want to use the ATW intake manifold, but you won't be able to use the solenoids underneath it (SAIP and N249)
