    c5 allroad headlight issue

    Anyone heard of this problem?
When I start my car and turn on the headlights, my passenger side xenon light won't turn on (drivers side works fine) and I get the "bulb out" warning light on the dash.
However, when I turn the car off and start it again and turn the lights on, passengers side xenon light comes on. After that it pretty much comes on randomly ( turning car on and off ).

All the brights and parking lights work fine and until this time, I have had no flickering or any problems with the lights.
Thanks in advance for any help

Are u saying flicking the lights on and off gets the bulbs to stay on? Happened to me going into the cold season when i bought cheap D2S bulbs. Swap the bulbs, if the problem follows the bulb get a new bulb. If the problem stays with the same headlight after a bulb swap, look into a new ballast.

I have the exact same issue with my drivers side light, all other lights work fine. I have to turn my lights on and off a few times to get the drivers side to come on, I suspected the connector plug but all seems fine.

Ok problem is solved. Switched out HID bulbs from drivers to passengers, and it works fine, so it is the bulb.
Question: the bulb that burnt out looks to be the original; made in Hungary. The one that still works is made in Japan. Both are D2S, and I couldn't tell a difference in color. I'm assuming the Hungarian one is OEM? Also should I replace both at the same time? Thanks

I mean hey, if u wanted to change the color temp on your low beams nows your chance. I would change both at the same time. If they were changed at the same time i bet the other one isnt too far behind. And i had 2 different colors and it drove me crazy. Not sure but i THINK Osram is oem, would have to find my oem bulbs to check where they were made. I would check out The Retrofit Source. Ive gotten Pairs of bulbs, new ballasts, new lenses for my projector, halos, all from them. Not too bad. Thier bulbs work well for me and at $50 for a pair. You can choose color temp.

I have 6500k with a 50 watt ballast. Blinding white light. On stock it has a blueish tint.

Thanks for the link, but I went OEM with Flosser (German made) bulbs from Europa parts. $55 for OEM, not bad at all
I still find it odd how switching on and off the car/lights can make the bad bulb turn on (sometimes) and will stay on for the whole trip....oh well

interesting, my passenger side headlight started doing this and here i am thinking i need a new ballast because why would a bulb work after cycling the switch. i will have to try putting in one of my old original bulbs to see if the morimoto i have in there went bad or something.
