    European Performance Lab k04 Tune

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Currently running CTS k04 turbo with APR Tune. Been looking around to see if others companies offered a tune with possibly more power and somewhat compatible with our cars and Turbo.

Stumbled upon EPL and I've been messaging them to find out if they have k04 for our cars.
They asked for my boxcodes and after few hours were able to confirm they do have a tune for my car but would need to write it.

Do any of the members have experience with this company? Any feedback will be appreciated

I message them back and asked for any type of data/dyno/price/informations... As soon as I receive something back I'll post here

I'm hoping for a more aggressive tune than APR.

EPL tunes have been reasonably popular with the S4 crowd. Haven't heard of a tune for A4's though.

Could be worth a try. Or go with eurodyne?

I don't think there are too many members running EPL tunes on this side (A4). However, EPL is more popular with the S4 guys; they have had very good success. If you're looking for more power out of your K04, it's best to have a custom tune created. All the "off the shelf" tunes have a level of variables built in to adjust for other K04s so I'm pretty sure, yours could make more power. See if EPL can create a custom tune instead of offering you an off the shelf file.

I'm not sure there is a ton left on the table with the APR k04 files. If I was to get a custom tune by EPL or UM I would probably want to upgrade my injectors since Arin at APR claimed that they essentially max out the fueling when their test Allroad was running E85. I would like to keep tq levels the same to save my drivetrain but upping crank up to around 400 / increasing top end with better fueling would be good fun

Hey so EPL is pretty Damm fast at replying love that side of the customer service.
Anywho here is their answer :

"It's about 340HP/320ft/lb, makes a bit less than the transverse motor K04s do. That's at 1.5 bar of boost on 93 octane. The K04 tune would be $899 and the flashing cable is $199 and if you get us VAGCOM logs we can make revisions to the file to make it more like a custom tune."

    Thoughts?

E85 requires a good amount more fuel, with 91-93 octane I dont imagine it would be a problem.

Our friend Eric using APRs 100 octane file and a CTS K04 put 329 whp (I think that was the number) down to the wheels so that's not too far off. But 340 crank on 93 sounds more reasonable. For $1,100 that's not worth it imo

With Eurodyne would they write custom tune for you, or you would have to tweak them yourself? I'm a total noob when it comes to that so if i were to tweak them myself, i'd probably blow something real quick.
Any members have Eurodyne ? How are there numbers looking?

    Eurodyne claims 360WHP ?

    "Product Description

We have developed a software calibration for the popular K04 turbo upgrade on 2009 and up vehicles with TSI engine.

This is a great option due to the fact that no fuel system upgrades are required in the EA888 engine to support power levels up to 360WHP.

Our in house development car, a 2009 Audi A3 Quattro (same powertrain and chassis as the VW GTI) managed a 12.4 quarter mile running a version of this calibration."
