2017 Q7 USB port to charge phone WITHOUT connecting to the MMI

    Hi Guys,

Just picked up a 2017 Q7 P+ and had a question. Is there a way to connect my phone to the USB port in the center console without connecting it to the MMI. Whenever the phone is connected to the MMI, I can't use my phone. This seems to be really annoying since sometime I just want to charge my phone while sitting in the passenger seat and let my wife drive.

Wife has the car out, so I can't check right now, but I believe all you have to do is disable your phone from the connection manager menu, under smartphone. That should should solve your issue. I'll update later to confirm.
