interior door handle light question

2014 S5 Prestige
my door handle looks like it has the clear lense for the light but it does not come on
Is it disabled or is there a light option that gets installed?

Is this what you mean?
I see a red light on mine, but its not noticeable at all. I'm interested in adding a brighter one.
It looks like the light doesn't shine directly down, it's kind of off to the side.
