Picking up a B8 S4 this week!

Since I'm officially joining the B8 club this week, I figured I would introduce myself. I'm a longtime forum member, I've just not been active in here in recent months since I picked up an MK6 Golf R. Unfortunately, my stint in the R only lasted 5 months due to some idiot with no regard for stop signs.....but you know what they say, when one door closes...blah, blah, blah......I am happy to be getting back into an Audi. The R was nice, but Audis are just a bit more refined. Before the R I had a decently modded B7 S4, which I sorely miss. I'm hoping the B8 fills that void. Anyway, here's the car I'm picking up on wed(note: I'm not paying the list price). I've read up a bit, so I have an idea of what I'm getting into. This car seems to be well sorted and comes with a ton of extra goodies, but is there anything I should be aware of?

Good luck with the car! looks clean, just be prepared to replace the thermostat in the near future. about a 1,400$ job at the dealer, might be able to use that negotiating.

I do not believe those numbers are correct on the power figures. I don't believe anyone is making over 450WHP on 93 octane. I made 390whp on 100 octane on a mustang dyno.

Unless it is a dyno jet i guess.

Yeah, he's quoting crank hp numbers from APR's website. I knew they were a little high. As for the thermostat, I believe he had it replaced already.

Good! my 2010 is at 130,000 miles. Just replaced the starter.

Yeah, from what I have read, these motors are really solid and don't have any real major issues. I'm looking at owning this car long term, so that's important. My b7 made it to damn near 150k before I traded it in without any serious repairs, but I was worried the entire time that the timing would go. I'm looking to avoid those fears and just enjoy this car as much as I can.

Haha, I know, that will be the first thing I fix. I also need to take the tint off the windshield. That will get me pulled over in a heartbeat where I live.

The big repairs on the 2010s seem to be the water pump, t-stat, and the tranny's mechtronic unit.

Picked up the car in Davenport last night and drove it home. Really happy with it. Needs some cosmetic conditioning in some place, but overall, it's a really solid car.
