Anyone have trouble with iPhone 7 (iOS 10.0.2) switching to private calling from MMI?

I recently replaced my iPhone 6 with with iPhone 7. I've had the Q5 for a few months but never tried to switch the call to just the iphone. I know in my old car (Lexus IS350 AWD) I could click on the iphone screen to select iphone rather then use the car's audio. This worked fine with the Lexus IS350, but with the Q5 it would switch to iphone audio only during the calling phase, but once connected it switches back to Q5's audio.

I didn't see anything in the configuration or the MMI manual.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Also can this be controlled with steering wheel or MMI or only iphone can make this change? (Assuming I can get this to work)

Hey man, you're not crazy. I'm on my second Q5 and I've always had this issue with my iphones. I don't think it's related to the 7 as it happens to me on the 6S and on past phones.

All of my iPhones have always done this with Bluetooth, even my iPhone 7 Plus. Unless you turn off BT, the iPhone will try to reconnect with the MMI unit, even after you have manually disconnected the BT connection specifically with the MMI unit. It can definitely be annoying at times, especially when you don't want the MMI unit to handle the call, but quickly turning off BT from the Control Center, will solve the problem.

BTW, Apple released a new iOS 10(10.0.3) update today.

Not exactly. I've encountered this issue ever since I got my Q5 in 2014, when I was running iOS 7, iOS 8, iOS 9, and now iOS 10.

10.1 beta 4 was released yesterday

The new iOS10 has soooo many bugs. I have no idea how it made it through beta testing with some of these simple things not working.
A couple things noticed so far on a friends phone (have to use the fingerprint to unlock (try doing that with a wet finger or after alcohol hand wash, it no worky. So you need to enter your code in those situations. If that's not available you can't get in your phone). Second one I noticed is when you are taking a video, the touch button to take still frame pics while recording doesn't work.

My phone is bugging the shit out of me to upgrade too.
And I don't want to until we get a 10.1 version with bug fixes.

When I switch to my phone from the MMI, I have always had to tap the 'iphone' selection twice and it would switch to the phone on the second try. This is was the case with my 6s and now my 7.
