What's the latest? Anyone heard anything promising? Last I heard from an Audi SA was that "he thinks it'll come here but it won't be a avant/wagon". IE sedan only.

Anyone on a "list" at their dealership yet?

I already have a deal with God that if the RS6 Avant makes it over to North America, my soul is his haha...

Don't understand why Audi NA wouldn't bring them over. They'll sell like hot cakes.

They won't sell like hot cakes and that's exactly the problem. Even within the relatively small enthusiast crowd of owners, only a handful of us would either want it or have the coin to buy it. It's admirable that Mercedes continues to offer the E64 Estate here. They are even more rare than the S6.

Yeah I often wonder why Audi doesn't attempt to stay competitive with M and AMG in North America. I get the fact that the masses (non-enthusiasts) don't want an avant but what about some sedan love? Or an RSQ5 with the 4.0T would be truly badass. At least in some 2010+ S models Audi has given us stout engines that, when modded, can compete with M/AMG (in stock form). Even though comparing a modded car to a stock car is apples to oranges but I digress.

As the poster above said, you really have to tip your hat to Mercedes and the many obscure AMGs they have brought to North America. R63 anyone? That's probably the height of obscurity. Here's to hoping that there will be an RS4 or RS6 coming stateside in future years.

They would sell a few RS6 sedans, if they came to North America.

I would need to convince my wife on an Avant RS6. I am not sure why she does not like station wagons though Neither of us would buy a SUV. Stations wagons were popular in the 1960s, but seemed to lose favor in the 1970s.

Going to have to disagree with you here. I think they would sell extremely well. And of course to enthusiasts, as with the RS7. I will admit the RS7 audience is bigger than the RS6 but there is still a great market for that car in the states.

There is always tons of speculation as to what Audi will send over here and most of it is false.

Just ask Vol4.0, even he had the plant supervisor, and executive at Audi and a customs agent confirm a special order which didn't show up ;)

The only stories i believe anymore are the ones put out by Audi announcing exactly what we're getting. Until then, it's just a waste of time to speculate, not to mention frustrating if you really want a wagon because i doubt we'll ever see one here. I hope they prove me wrong one day.

LOL I ordered the S6 a month ago already! Tis' real. Should have a Nardo whip in the garage within 3 months!

This is where I'm not getting the logic of bringing them stateside. Chassis is same as the RS7 and everything else is identical (correct me if I'm wrong) except for the body. Audi is building them for rest of the LHD world anyways so there is minimal opportunity cost to bringing them stateside.

Unless they fear it'll affect the RS7 sales but with the C7 chassis so far into its life cycle. I'm not even sure why it matters.

Picking up myself a Nardo RS7 next week, it's a lot better than nothing but RS6 Avant would've been my wife and Myself's dream choice alongside our R8.

If Audi decides to bring an RS6 to the states, it will be a sedan under similar marketing as the RS3 sedan

I have seen an original letter on Audi NA letterhead stating that a limited release of 500 RS6 Avants will be brought to the USA in 2019. The letter was signed by Scott Keogh. Granted they can always change their mind but i saw that letter last spring.

I understand them not wanting to stock the RS6. but at least allow the custom orders to order them ..since I ordered my s6 it was then built in germany and "shipped" literally the same plant just needs the epa and dot aproval

Got an email from my sales manager who had just met with ANA. He was told 0% chance RS6 Avant would come to USA :(

You guys make it sound like it's just signing off on some paperwork. All the safety, emissions, etc. tests cost hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars. Then you have to remember the supply chain complexity of ensuring that all the parts meet the regulations to homologate the car in this market. There is no doubt in my mind that the business case has floated around many times. However considering the announcement that Audi is taking a cost cutting approach due to dieselgate, I will be very surprised if a widebody avant RS6 makes it to the states any time soon.

Avant or sedan, I would love the RS6 here, especially as reports I have seen say that the S6 will be a TTV6 with only 400HP. Not sure why Audi would degrade the S6 so much (the sport exhaust burbling those wonderful V8 sounds is my favorite part of the current S6). If the RS6 is the only one with a V8, there will be some serious demand here.

I love the Avant and also wish they would bring it to NA.

I would bet if they raised the RS6 Avant about 3 inches(called it a crossover), then it would sell like hotcakes. It seems the stigma of most NA buyers. RSX6 anyone haha?
