    Removing the intercooler

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So, I have been searching all morning, and I can't find a DIY on removing the intercooler for the life of me. Mine is have the seeming common coolant leak, so I want to pull it to make sure nothing is wrong with the bottom half of the radiator before I order a new intercooler. Any help at all would be awesome. Thanks! Oh, I have a 2010 S4. Not sure if the removal differs from the different years of the B8.

If you're talking about the hx, use the link above. If you're referring to the intercoolers in the blower, there's not a how to, but basically remove the bolts and knock out the i/c's with a rubber mallet, after you pull the blower off the car of course.

This is close! I'll get some pictures in a minute, but it looks like it'll be trapped in by these rubber guards that guide air into it, and they seem to run up under the bumper beam as well.

Okay, here are some pictures. I hope you can tell what I'm saying, by there is that divider/air guide that is directly in front of it. However, it runs all the way up to the hood, and goes behind the bumper. So, do I have to remove the bumper beam? Or just slide it out without removing those?

Okay, cool. Is there only one bolt holding it in, like it says?
