    20" Peelers?

Found a set of OEM 20" peelers for real cheap. They are from a 2011 Q5. I believe the offset is 33 vs our factory 45. My 19s are already 35 which is just right. But is 20" too much? Really want to get into some peelers, but 19" versions start at $1,500 for just the wheels, and these are half that with tires. But havent seen 20" peelers on a B6 and think it might be too big.

    Thoughts?

Yeah what he said. Those things will be boat anchors. I had some 19" S5 Peelers at one time, and while they looked great it made a very noticeable impact on performance. I took a road trip to go snowboard, and between the 19" Peelers and the roof box on my avant I lost like 5-7mpg, it was ridiculous.

You should be able to find 19" versions cheaper than 1500. Hell I sold my S5 version for like 650 since they had a little curbing (I'm also a nice guy )

20s is an overkill on our chassis. Aesthetically speaking 19s is where it's at as you could still have a decent amount of tire and not rub or have a harsh ride. $1500 for the peelers without tires hmmm that's quite overpriced. For that price you could score a decent set of OEM B7 RS4 wheel and tire set.

Before you install, load your trunk with 750 pounds of sandbags. The performance you experience will match what those wheels will do to your car.

Yep, the weight of them alone should have turned me off from the start, but didnt think about it at all, thanks for the reminders.

I keep seeing one of my bent rims, and use it as an excuse to shop for something new. OEM gear always gets me going especially when I see it cheap.

For some reason here locally the prices on OEM gear is ridiculous, keep in mind $1500 CAD is ~$1100USD.

I have 18s on my car now - they ride nice with Potenza tires, but I can't imagine having any bigger/heavier wheel on the car - just my opinion. If you like how it looks, go for it for sure!

I think 20" would look big wheeled besides the aforementioned boat anchor issue. Was it your VMR spoke wheels that bent?

The other thought behind getting them too was that if I didnt like them on my B6, then they would end up on my D2, which a heavy 20 is probably more suited.

Yes, my 702 front passenger wheel took a pot hole at 120km/hr. I was coming back from an event and didnt pick up on this pot hole, despite scanning both sides of the road on the way to the event. They have been a great wheel and held up to some other large pot holes too. Maybe I'll just replace the one wheel.

That blows. Like you, I'm super careful to avoid them, but I hit one I didn't see. I would replace the bent one, if you are largely happy with the set. I have one wheel (718s) I curb rashed in the car wash - doh, maybe I can pick one up during Black Friday sales.
