    Fan issue

I seen similar post like this in the past. I went to start my car yesterday and my battery was kinda weak, from it sitting almost a week. I had been using to charge cell phone batteries due to hurricane in the south east. I had been starting car during that time with no issues, also car it parked in car port so it did not see the rain. I go to start it last night and it was kinda a weak start but it started. I let the car run for about 15mins and I turn it off, but fan is still running. Every time I would start it after that sat radio would reset. I have seen most have replaced the fan control module and that has solved the issue. Would that be the likely cause of issue or could it be the battery due to the low voltage. I have the battery on the charger, but have not checked for codes as of yet. Also battery is at minimum 9yrs old. I would rather replace the battery over module due to cost, but I want to replace the right thing the first time.

    Thanks in advance.

Charge the battery, test it if the battery is good, then scan the ecu with vcds and youll have the answer.

Have you ever checked your cowel drains?
Common problem is the 2 drains in the cowel area, 1 under battery and 1 under the booster and ECU plug up slowing the water draining, if you get a really big dump of rain the cowel can fill. If the water gets high enough it can enter your ECU

    Dam phone....
If water gets into the ECU there are several relays right in the bottom that can rust and act up, common indicator that 219 relay sticks on and causes the fan to run on after key turned off.
If control module is fucked the fans won't run at all.
With your battery problems I'd charge your battery right up then run car till fans come on and then shut it off, and see how long it takes for the fans to shut off. If they are running on that could be draining you battery. You could have a relay that is on its way out.

Thanks guys. I got off of work late and did not have a chance to check anything yet. I will check out the things that were suggested and report back with what I find tomorrow.

Checked under ecu and it was clean as can be and relays were like new. Ran vcds and found the problem.

Traction control light won't go off as well. I didn't have that issue before I disconnected the battery and found this new code as well. Would the car have to be driven to clear thing?

I would like to think this is the correct one. Can anyone confirm this?
