KW HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE LOWERING SPRING KIT
    https://store.034motorsport.com/kw-h...coilovers.html

My DRC fortunately are still in good condition since they have been replaced under the recalled program. I didn't want to spend the extra cash for a coil over setup but want to lower the car a bit.

    Thanks.

I am running the KW HAS kit and I like it.

I was in same spot as you prior to making the move. I honestly wanted KW V3's as I had run them on my previous B7 S4 avant and found them to be amazing, but I am in Vancouver, Canada and with the current strength of the USD vs. our CAD I couldn't justify the current price of admission for the set of V3's.

I really like the KW HAS and was genuinely surprised at the range of height adjustability. Install was done without disruption to my DRC and all is lovely. The car is currently sitting quite low and still rides great. If I have one complaint it might be that the rear springs seem a bit "soft" as when I get loaded up with a couple of bags in trunk or a passenger in rear; sags a little more than I like. But I drive alone for 90% of my driving, so not a daily concern. I hope my informal review helps in your decision making! Cheers! - Mark

Thanks for the feedback Mark. I currenlty have 19x9.5 ET25 with 275/30 all around on the car. The front rubs a bit at near full compression but once I removed the screws and plastic tabs at the top of the wheel wells, all is good. At full height, does the KW H.A.S. kit sit at the same height as stock? May I know your setup (ride height and wheels/tires combo)? I'm trying to setup the car so to not experience any rubbing. Thanks

Spend the cash for coils... it's def worth it!
You will probably have to do it down the road anywise!
I made the mistake of going with springs...
DRC/shocks failed about a year later... put in shocks.. stance sucked... so put in could next day... sooo much better than springs and shock combo (inc drc)

I totally get what you're saying Hamid; why take the hit on two different labour install/alignment sessions? / just do it first time. However, the KW HAS kit is a height adjustable kit with a surprising range of lows and this just cannot be compared to a static sport spring.

For me personally it was the right call. I scooped my car a year and a half ago from the original owner @ 29,000 kms and the DRC just had recall / service work at dealer; didn't feel right to just tear the DRC out. I found a super good deal on a KW HAS kit and I couldn't pass it up.

I know of your fiasco when they re-installed your springs (after DRC fail) without your B5 perches in place and effed up your desired height up front. That's how it goes on any other set of normal sport springs - you're stuck with that height as it sits; not the case with the KW HAS.

I am super happy with the ride quality, I can dial in my height exactly where I want it (will be raising it slightly here shortly for Winter) and when the DRC finally starts to get sweaty and fails out on me, I will be prepared with some fresh and shiny Bilstein struts and shocks at that time. I will then essentially have a coilover equivalent / fully height adjustable setup at that time and my total cost outlay will be less than a set of H&R coilovers.

They aren't the V3's I truly want of course, but they are a great balance of ride quality, performance and cost effectiveness for my needs at this point in my car modding life. I would recommend them to anyone wanting to take a similar approach to fender gap elimination.

How are the HAS in terms of stiffness. My biggest complaint of my set up is how soft it is.. I feels great just driving around town but when it comes to hard cornering and roll these the H&R springs are terrible.

I feel my car handles better with the HAS kit. Good balance of small bump (road crack...) compliance/absorption, but good cornering stiffness/compliance, and no bounce.

Did you run any other lowering springs before? Or did you go to HAS from stock?

Definitely try to get a better deal on the H.A.S kit. I have had 3 different setups in my RS4 before I sold it, in order H&R Springs, KW HAS Kit, and Bilstein B14. For the money I'd go B14, I went with the HAS kit because at that time (2014) the next best Coilover was Bilstein PSS9 at $1600.00 and I was looking to only lower the car. If you want full adjustability in ride height Rebound/compression then without a doubt go KW V3.

H&R Springs without a doubt are super soft and do not compliment the DRC in anyway in my opinion, if you can score a KW HAS Kit for under $500 go for it, otherwise do coilovers. My .02

I found my H&R springs to be fairly stiff, not soft at all, and definitely an improvement over stock. Maybe the rear spring spacer helped with composure etc, idk..

You know I got my KW HAS for under $500, because I bought them from you! haha. Thanks again! I love the setup honestly. It's just a great middle ground option between a higher end coilover and a static sport spring. I wouldn't call the ride soft at all, very much stock plus feeling.

I too have the HAS kit now for about 2 years. Is a good compromise from the OEM. It still rides surprisingly well on the street and can handle the track fairly well too. I'm just waiting for the DRC to die before upgrading to proper coils. For the money and depending on what driving you are doing (more street than track) then it's good value. Potentially you could get the collars and buy stiffer swift springs if you wanted to keep the DRC, but at that point you might as well get proper coilovers. It's all about what compromise you want to make between comfort, handling and money.

Oh hey! haha, glad you are enjoying them!

@WinterRunner I just felt that the H&R's didn't feel that much better than stock on stiffness, when I swapped out for the KW HAS it was an immediate difference.
