Will dealer software update delete my Stasis tune?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hi everyone! My first post here is probably a pretty obvious one, so bear with me. My S5 has a Stasis Stage 1 tune. The dealer said there is a software update available for my car. I told them to hold off, assuming that their software update would delete the Stasis tune and, since Stasis is out of business, it wouldn't be able to be restored.

    Am I right?

If so, is there any way to keep the tune but get software updates?

    Thanks in advance!

That update isn't free if the car is out of warranty. If your tune is detected, bam, TD1.

Just don't do the update. You take your car to the dealer, all u get is a TD1 and a stock file.

Ok. They already know it is TD1. The tune was done through the dealer back in 2013 when Stasis used to do stuff through Audi dealers.

So which would it be - will the tune be deleted with the regular Audi software update? Is there much of a reason to get their software update? I don't know what it addresses.

The software update addresses tolerances related to the catalytic converter. The general consensus seems to be that it's worthless on a tuned car.

As noted in another thread, If you live in CA you are required to get this update or you will not be able to renew your registration next time as you will have to show proof it was done. The update to the ECU will effectively wipe your tune and create a new stock file for your ECU. Stasis would have to update their files to be able to allow the newly updated ECU to be reflashed afterwards. Problem I see is Stasis is out of business and not sure if Revo will do this. Time to make a call I think..

The software update is free in or out of warranty. I rang up my dealer and had them perform it, and I am out of warranty. I have every mod except for the tune; I'm guessing they would TD1 it.

Thanks. Lame, but I think you're right! Making a call to Revo. Hopefully they'll do something - I'd hate to lose the tune.
