    4.2 Oil temperature

I've been trying to research this issue but can't pinpoint the problem.

I've noticed that the oil takes a very long time to warm up and in most cases will only warm up to 175-200 degrees after an hour of driving. When it is really cold out the oil temp stays pinned on the 150 line for at least 30 minutes of city driving and will slowly inch up to 175 and stay there. The coolant seems to warm up in a normal amount of time and will stay pinned in the center after 15 minutes of driving.

    I use the 0w-40 Mobil1 synthetic.

Any ideas? My mpg is very poor and while I know it is a V8 I assume the computer is telling the car to run a richer mixture because it thinks the car is cold?

Sounds about right. It's ALOT of oil, I never see mine warm up unless I'm out driving in hot weather for a long time.

Bear in mind that the coolant temperature gauge is basically just an idiot light, its calibrated to go right to the center of the gauge for a fairly wide temperature range. Oil temp on mine usually runs around 200-225.
