Hi all,

Well, after looking for several months I finally found the S4 in the specs I wanted. Happy to announce I've pulled the trigger on a 2013 CPO Estoril Blue S4. Car has 34K miles on it and is in pristine condition.

Looking forward to getting a few mods on it in the near future.

Thank you! Oh man, you're talking two different cars. The S4 is superior in all categories. But I did like how nimble the A3 was. Still a peppy vehicle.

The Handling.
The Power.
The spacious and luxurious interior. (I know some people say it's outdated. Still nice)

S4 is just takes the cake.

Plus I wasn't a fan of the turbo lag. The instant power you get from the S4 is exactly what I was looking for. I will say however, the MMI and Nav is something I'll miss from the A3. The updated technology was nice.

I completely agree, I test drove an S3 before buying the S4.

Going into the test drive I was slightly bias towards the S3. Loved the exterior body style, thought I liked the minimalist interior.

Turns out I hated the interior, the turbo lag annoyed me, the quality of the interior was worse and the AWD sucked.

S4 is in a different class.

What are you planning to do for mods?

What are you planning to do for mods?

Yes exactly! I'm so excited to drive this in the winter. HOnestly, the Haldex system wasn't awful, I just think a lot of the Audizine guys were maybe used to the Torsen system? I had snow tires on the A3, and was passing 4x4 all day long!

Well I'm a little torn on if I want to keep the chrome because it's good contrast, but I do love the Black Optics look and with the Blue not being as dark as Moonlight, I think i'm going to do it.

Thoughts?

So far:

BO Look with 35% ceramic tint.
18" winter wheel package. I like the Gunmetal Look for wheels.
Needs a slight Drop. (OE Springs and Bilstein Shocks)
Intake - I'll sort through, most likely ESC.
AWE Exhaust - hopefully after winter, most likely Touring with Resonated Downpipes.
Stage 2 (ECU and TCU) - Theres a G.I.A.C dealer near my home.
all the 034 goodies.(Sway, mounts, etc..)
and eventually Ecodes... Or maybe OneEightyNYC?

going to enjoy stock for a month though. Any other suggestions??

Sigh, so far away. However I travel to Grand Haven and the west side almost once a month. I'm in Southeast MI. 25 miles northwest of Detroit.

Thank you, agreed. However I will be blacking out the grille and window trim this week. Keeping the mirrors as you're right, provides some nice contrast.

Wrapped the Chrome Trim in Satin Black.



Also wrapped the Fogs.



And wrapped the Rear Valence as well. Still need to do the chrome strip, but I kinda like the contrast. Thoughts?



RS Grille and Winter Wheel Package next on the list.

When I first bought the car I was like oh no, I'm never going to be able to keep this thing clean. I was obsessed about swirl marks and keeping it looking perfect. Through the years I realized that I love washing my car by hand, and if it has some swirl marks, so be it. Nothing looks like this color when clean, and I don't know that I'll be buying any other car that doesn't have a blue in a similar shade. It is just a beautiful color and I still get compliments on it from complete strangers 2 1/2 years in. Enjoy it!

ECS has a really nice DIY for the grill. Just get someone to help you pull the bumper off and you'll be good.

I did it myself with another hand. Honestly the toughest part was taking the bumper off(figuring out which screws). I plasti dipped the crash bar.
