I have done a lot of searching on snub mounts and the vibration issues. I bought an Apikol mount and put it on the car and recognized a pretty good amount of vibration while in drive and reverse. I had put the car on ramps and had the bracket loosened up, turned on the car, and let it idle while giving it some revs. I thought maybe the incline on the ramps could be a factor in the mount touching the bracket after I backed the car down. Since then I have readjusted the mount on flat ground, tightened the bracket there, and then torqued it on the ramps. But even before I put it up on the ramps I notice the vibration. I have adjusted and tightened the bracket while the car was idling and in gear, but to no avail have I been able to fix the vibration. It seems that no matter how I adjust it there is vibration. (Ex: Adjust in park for smooth idle -> Rough Drive/Reverse --- Adjust in reverse -> Rough Idle)
I have a Tiptronic and noticed that many of the posts and people putting these performance snub mounts on their cars have manuals. So my question is: Is aggressive vibration just something that the automatic cars have to deal with and maybe these mounts aren't optimal for them? Or is there something I am not doing right here? Many thanks, guys.
