Cylinder head oil lines & EGR ports?

Anyone familiar with these (Items 4 and 7)? Neither the heads on my current engine or replacement engine seem to have any so wondering if this is an older design that Bentley shows? Also, there's an unused port on my new heads at the rear near the coolant pipe connections. They are open whereas the heads on my current engine are plugged with what appear to be metal balls. Are these some sort of EGR ports and if so, is there a block-off fitting I can use? Thx

Is your bentley for a 2.4 V6? Because those heads are the only ones (V6 anyways) I can recall seeing oiling tubes on. That's what they are, btw. They just squirt oil onto the cam lobes. Maybe it was a euro thing.

Early 30V 2.8s had them. I was pulling heads at the junk yard and came across a set of these. I bailed on them because I wasn't sure of compatibility. Audi probably realized that oil squirters on the cam lobes was a bit overkill and squashed the idea. The funny thing is I couldn't find an engine code anywhere and failed to grab the VIN.

Yeah, I didn't get it either as the cam caps clearly have oil feeds built into them.

If it was an auto they are most likely the SAI combi valve ports. 034 sells block off plates and maybe other vendors do as well. Or get friendly with a machinist. Can't be too hard to make

Its going to be both sides.

If you have an old rear wheel bearing kicking around, the balls can be tapped into the holes just like audi does when they plug them at the factory.
