My car has started puffing smoke whenever I cold start it. Warm starts seem normal. The smoke only last for a few seconds.

    No CEL or fault codes.

    Anyone know the cause?

    Thanks in advance!

Typically valve seals. When they get tired a few drops of oil leak down while the engine is resting, and then smokes when you start it up for a sec, til it burns off.

It'll show up in high vacuum situations (eg. engine braking down a hill) as it gets worse. (high vacuum sucking oil through the seal).

Is there a way to test and see if its the valve seals or not?

I've also heard others say it may be the turbo seals. What are your thoughts on that?

I guess you could see how wet the intake tract is, pull the pipe off the throttle body and see if it's wet, if it is wipe it down and see how it is a few days later or osmething..
