Help! Washed Cylinder, What to do now?

Hello all. I have a 2010 A4, it has no compression in cylinder #4. I took it to Audi for a diagnostic, and they told me it has a washed cylinder, and I need a $14000 new engine. WHAT!!! Apparently Audi doesn't offer short blocks, and a new long block is $10,000+ labor and parts(new injector and misc nuts and bolts). Does anyone know of a fix for this. I don't have $14,000 to replace a motor on a car that's worth around $10,000 now (or less since it has a bad motor). I can spend $2000-$3000, but certainly not $14,000... anyone have any ideas or know a good mechanic in the Las Vegas area. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Since you're obviously out of warranty, take it to an indy shop and source a used engine instead. Should come in around 1/3 of what Audi is charging.
