Question about halogen to xenon conversion/ kufatec harness

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I am looking to do the halogen to xenon conversion but I am confused about what kufatec adapter should be used. On the kufatec website they have two sets:

    1.Auto-Leveling Bi-Xenon Headlights - Retrofit - Audi A4 B7
    2.Auto-Leveling Bi-Xenon/AFS Headlights - Retrofit-Audi A4 B7/8E

I don't really care about having my lights turn when I corner. I just simply want xenon headlights. If I purchased a set of OEM lights that had AFS could I just use the non AFS harness? Thanks in advance.

Yes just buy the non-afs harness. i have done exactly the same conversion on my car and used this harness with no problems at all.

Is this really as simple as this? I'm looking to do halogen to xenon conversion with s4 headlights which has AFS. I only need to pick the kufatec adapter without AFS and lights will works perfectly still (no afs obviously!).

    Cheers!

The one Axis linked works just as well for less money. And yes, it is that easy.

I completed this swap a month or so ago and thought I didn't do it correctly or missed a step due to the headlights flickering for several minutes (at least 5 sometimes 10) and the highbeams were barely more intense than the low-beams...and then I recoded it thru VAG-COM. No more flickering and the high beams are fantastic! A great mod

What about going the other way? I have a car with xenons, and one with halogen that I want to swap. Anyone put halogens in a xenon car?

The connectors between the Halogen and BI-Xenon are different, hence the harness. I personally have not seen one that goes the other way. I'm sure some electrical saavy person could figure out the reverse wiring on one of those harness connectors.

Nope, you can't do that due to connect # of pins

I'd like to convert my halogens to xenon also. Can you guys please point in the direction of stuff I'd need to get that's reasonably priced? OEM conversion would be way too much, and just popping in a quality aftermarket HID kit is cringe worthy here.

You bought the wrong car if a halogen to bi-Xenon conversion "would be way to much"! Haha

I'm with Phil. OEM or nothing.
