How do you know if you have the pre sense camera? On the Canadian site I have pre sense basic listed under my trim. Will this work?

Yours will work (pre sense city is the minimum requirement). All NAR A4s have the camera I believe. At least in the us. They only made one camera so look at your mirror housing. In the windshield and if it has a camera then you're good to go!

Thanks Michfin. I read your posts on the other board. I wish I was savy enough to do this. It irks me that features like these are already there, just not turned on; and they wanted to charge a bunch of $$ just got get it on. I really appreciate your post.

Speaking of modifications and I quote you... "I do get a few faults but I think it is due to me trying to activate Traffic Sign Recognition".

Did you ever figure out how to get the camera/system to give you the "Traffic Sign Recognition" feature because that's the one I would really like to have working for me.

I was thinking of opting out on the traffic sign feature. I feel like it would be annoying. Curious about your thoughts and reasoning though!

Unless I'm wrong that feature gives you the real speed limits of the roads you are travelling on, on your displays versus what is preprogrammed in the Nav data base which can/is obsolete or wrong because local authorities may have changed the speed limits.

Ya, just seems like all those signs popping up (I believe it shows school signs, yield, etc) would just be too much. I don't have problems seeing speed limit signs as is - for my needs it feels like an easy opt out to save a little $.

On the Q7, it doesn't show yield, stop, RR crossing or any other signs. It just shows speed limit and school zone speed limit. Does the A4 have a HUD? If so it will show up in that as well.

You can get the HUD on the A4 but I decided not to get it because IMHO it is not worth it but since we already have the cameras in place it would be nice to have the feature that shows the speed limits because I think it transfers the data to the NAV system and Virtual Dash and not just the HUD.

Is there a button on the turn stalk to turn it on and off? Is it just always on?

On the other board people said u can disable it by turning off ECS, apparently the system disables in that scenario.

Look at the green indicators for active lane assist in my cluster and HUD.

It works but can't be disabled from the menu. That is a dealbreaker for me...Thanks for posting.

Update: The car tried to steer into the shoulder because of construction lines on Chicago highways. I'm talking to the point of crashing into shit. Fortunately, I have forearms of a man, and stopped the auto-steer easily. Disabled the feature. I could see this being an awesome mod for anyone who drives in areas where the lane markings are consistent and don't change (often) because of construction and weather. Just a FYI.

Even on the Q7 with this feature from the factory, it can be cumbersome at times. 95% of the time, it is spot on, but I only use it on the highways now. Also, for people that doing this, I would recommend retrofitting the stalk that has the button to turn on an off for situations like this. The times where it has almost got me into trouble is in the construction zones.

Here in NYC it sounds like more of a liability than a helpful tool. This was one of my concerns with it. Sounds like my concern is not unfounded.

    Hi guys,

I followed all the steps trying to activate lane assist(from here) on my A5 2019, but I have the following error and can't get rid of it, Even if I try to clear the error, 1 second later it shows again in the cluster with yellow ...

I don't know how to determine if my front camera is capable of this, as well as for activating Sign Recognition.
