It was cool this morning so i tried the heat for the first time and get nothing after driving for 10mins. Tried bleeding any excess air from the system via the bleeder valve on the heater hose in the cowl and loosening the cap...the heater hoses are both cool to the touch and the little heater control valve doesn't fee like its running except every few minutes it would buzz for a couple of seconds. Vagcom code came back with 00739- coolant circulation pump (V50) upper limit error.
Am I looking at replacing the pump/valve assembly?

I took the valve apart today and cleaned up the pistons and reassembled it and still more of the same...it runs for a second and then stops with no hot air blowing at all

Fast forward many years later and I finally got the heat working normally in this old turd….i ended up doing a bleeding process that works with some finicky fords. After many seasons of heater core flushings and vacuum bleeding it’s finally working normally! Time to sell!

Glad you finally got it all sorted out. The other option would have been to get yourself a vacuum fill setup and do it that way to be sure all the bubbles had been removed.
