Question Used Tires / Tire question

So less than a year after replacing my tires 1 of the 4 had a puncture which was fixed and a little after that a screw got in (didn't go all the way through) but was close enough to the sidewall that NTB said it would be better/safer to just replace. So I replaced all 4 tires again, and kept all 4 of the old set (including the bad one). What can I do with this old set?

Should have just bought 1 new tire and had it shaved down to match the tread depth of the other 3. Tirerack does this.

Keep' em (depending on tread depth) & do what Squibb16 suggested.

That's true, I guess next time I'm in need of tires I can just buy 1 and have it shaved down to match the other 3...nice

Edit: the only problem I could think of is Michelin discontinued the tires that I replaced. Is it a nono to get 1 of the tires they replaced the discontinued one with?

Also, as long as all 4 of your tires are within 4/32" of each other, you're fine. That's Audi spec. So, for example, if you have to replace one tire when your tires are at 6/32" and the new tire you'd get starts at 10/32", you're within 4/32" of all the other tires and don't need to replace all 4.

I wouldn't replace it with the newer version. It's probably going to have different characteristics thatll compromise handling.

If it's discontinued I'd look on eBay for a used one with similar thread depth to the other three.
