Pee smell coming out of the air vents! Audi A4 Cabrio

I have changed the cabin filter and even the engine filter.
Urine smell coming out with the air out of the vents anytime I use the heater or AC.

No sure where else to look..if you know something about this problem please help! :) thank so much!.

I had this problem recently. Do you have cats? Are there feral cats in your neighborhood? They are probably marking their territory on your car. Spray some repellent on it..

^^^If he's right, you still have pee to clean up.^^^^ Pull the glove box (might as well lube that stupid little hinge damper that always needs attention on a B7) then pull the blower motor. See if there is any pee in the HVAC box there. That's the most likely place...not sure how it would get past that point but you never know.

Do you smoke cigs? Sometimes people who smoke in their cars end up with a pee-ish smell from the smoke accumulating in the inside of the vents. Just a possibility.

How drunk did you get last night? Seriously though, I've seen cases of feral cats marking on cars.. not very nice at all! Best of luck cleaning it up if that's the case!

Could be rodents nesting underhood or in the rain tray area as well.

No, I dont have cats but yes I have seen cats in my neighborhood..it doesnt sound fun :O

prior owner may have been a smoker get the vent cleaner from chemical guys or auto store and spray in vent from cabin filter opening

How does ciggies smell like pee?

I used Lysol .. but it was for bacteria in the vents not cat pee. you may have to look a little harder for the " cat pee" Lysol

Once cig smoke builds up in the vents you get a musky pee like smell. It's the accumulation of smoke buildup inside the vents. Not a cig-like smell. Find someone who smokes in their car with the ac on and you get what I'm saying. Just a thought, hopefully it isn't actually pee in the car.
