In need of real cams

Looking for big power cams,

Specs -

1.8T Bored and stroked to 2.0L
9:1 mahle pistons
AEB big port (IE CNC and +1 Valve, Ferrea components)
Manifolds
BAMF IC
GTX3576
1000CC injectors
DBW Vr6
Mafless



Always wanted the IE cams and never bought them and obviously now they seem to be a thing of the past.
Have tried going through 034 but they never seem to have anything to get back to me with.


Looking for big power cam, Idle can be 1200rpm and i wouldn't mind. I know cat has some big cams but accessing them hasn't been easy. Any suggestions / alternative options?

cat cams either 3651 or 3653.They make some 3658 cams also but the idle quality on them isnt all that great.Your choice.

Why not IE?

I have a set of QED purples - i purchased them from someone who had an issue with there bottom end grenading on them. I then ran them in a ported head and the cam gear sheared the key way and all the valves were lost. ------ Not sure if i feel comfortable running them in the new IE head and risk them being weak after two major motor issues like that.


I have no issue with IE camshafts, i would love a set. But they are not available......


as for cat cams - The 3658 looks like its going to end up being the way i go.... unless i find out i have enough PTV clearance for the 3664

Check ECS and other websites for IE cams. Or call IE and ask when they will have new batches machined. Its possible if you order some they can machine them for you. Worth a shot.

Sadly they still aren't available, was told sometime this month maybe but pffftttttttt been same story for years. probably just pulling trigger on cat cams at this point

i have been told IE cams well be back on the market soon. There was a change in metal manufacturers or something along that nature...once thats squared they should be back on market

Yeah i was told similar back in October. you can also find threads from me on the forum posting when they initially became back ordered 5 years ago..... sad that a company could have the "top" product but cannot produce it to keep up with demand.
