    Max Offset 20x9?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Anyone running ET 25 on sport suspension with 20x9? What's the max offset without rubbing and looking crazy with either a 255 or 265/35/20?

On my s6 I am running 20*9 et29 and lowered about 17-20mm. It only rubs on hard turns in dynamic mode.

Do you mind posting a pic or two when you can? I found Rob's S6 with 265 tires and his looks good but he's lowered.

i would imagine the spoke design would have a large impact on what offset you can use with the s6 brakes

Anything lower then et29 on 9" wide wheel will poke in the rear unless you adjust for some negative camber. In the front can run a few more mm before the wheel starts protruding. You can still get away with a slightly lower offset, just depends on the look you're after.

Is this the case with standard sport suspension on A6?

That's the case on my 16 with sport suspension. On a lowered car you'll have more negative camber so you can generally get away with s lightly lower offset.

This is final et23 on 8.5, same at et29 on 9" and it's about as flush as you can get.

Some of this is also going to depend on the specifics of the tire sidewall geometry. For example, I have found that Continental runs wide. A Yokohama 255 is wider than a Michelin 275, etc, etc. When you are pushing the envelope of fitment to millimeters, it makes a difference. The best fit IMO for a 265 on a 9" wheel is ET35mm. You fill fit very nicely, lowered or stock, and will have no rubbing no matter what brand of tire you choose.

Here is a 265/35/20 Michelin PSS on 20x9 ET 35, lowered about 15mm:

How are those tires? I always wonder about the difference of the "star BMW" tires on other makes. I'm sure it is minimal but just don't know all the details. I know for example the Michelin K2 spec tires for Ferrari start with 3/32" less tread depth than the non-K2 spec. I see from Tirerack the BMW spec is 1/32" less to begin with just don't know what else is different to make is "star BMW" and how that would affect its use on AWD Audi.

Addict, that setup is perfection. I'm going to run the ET 35 rs7 reps for now as a winter setup and move to the OEM SQ5s (polished black with machined face) for the summer.

A6 and S6 max offsets are different in the front. A6's front caliper is bulkier in spots, generally limiting the offset, unfortunately. Just make sure you go somewhere and test fit as some of the recommendations made by the S6 guys won't necessarily work on an A6.

THIS. Not only that but the A6 uses floating calipers vs the S6 monoblocks. What this means in the real world is your caliper face sticks out further with fresh pads. Point being, if you test fit with worn brakes, take that into consideration if the spokes are close. Pay particular attention to the torx head on the cover plate as it sticks forward farther than anything.
Do it right, or don't bother.

That DAMN torx head! It was the bane of my existence while shopping for my set up.
