I am putting new boots on the inner CV joint of my 1997 V6 2.8L 12V FWD.

I know it is cheaper to put aftermarket axles but I have had bad experiences with them and Raxles is just too expensive at the moment.

I removed that end cap and did everything. I am trying to get the new end cap back on.. I have already slightly dented it (probably not an issue) but do not want to damage it any more.

Any ideas how to get that thing to seat in there. I have tried several things but it just doesn't look seated in place.
